POINSETTIA, PORCH POT, WREATH & GARLAND SALE - Coordinator needed! This sale is a great fundraiser for the Washington, D.C. trip our 8th graders go on each year. The Coordinator of the sale will receive extra volunteer service credits and a portion of the profits will be credited to your student’s DC trip. This year’s class trip costs $900 per person. Please let the office know ASAP if you are interested in this fundraiser project. Students in grades 1 - 7 have order forms. Orders are due Friday, November 17 and will be delivered Tuesday, December 5. To order see a student or fill out the form in the office.
JEANS DAY TOMORROW! Students may wear modest blue jeans and a dress code shirt or a St. Paul Spirits t-shirt, sweatshirt or hoodie.
QUARTER ONE ends Friday, November 3. Report cards will be sent home Monday, November 13. FRIDAY is the LAST DAY to wear SHORTS Shorts may not be worn to school during the 2nd and 3rd quarters of the school year. CRAFT & VENDOR FAIR - Saturday, November 4 from 9-2:00 pm., in our gym. $2 Admission. Grades 6 & 7 are also hosting a bake sale. Come and do some early Christmas shopping! DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME ENDS - Set your clocks back one hour on Saturday night. NOVEMBER & DECEMBER CHAPEL OFFERINGS - We are collecting non-perishable food items for our church’s food pantry. Each year St. Paul assembles Christmas food boxes for families in the Flint community who are in need at Christmas. Our monetary chapel offerings for November and December will provide Christmas gifts for children who may not otherwise receive gifts. Each class is “adopting” a child and volunteers are shopping. A
THANK YOU TO Andrea Guith who has volunteered to coordinate the Christmas Shop this year. The shop will be open in the Dorcas room for students to purchase handmade gifts for family and friends on Friday, December 1. Adults may shop when the children are finished after school on Friday. It will also be open on Sunday, December 3, before and after worship. Crafters are welcome to bring in handmade items. The school uses 15% of the profit to help with food and Christmas gifts for people in need in our community. Crafters receive 85% of the profit. Volunteers will be needed to work in the shop during set-up on Thursday afternoon, November 30 and when the children shop to assist with shopping and wrapping. Forms will be sent home with the next SPIRIT.
FAMILY MOVIE NIGHT - Our Evangelism/ Outreach Committee is planning a Family Movie night on Friday, November 10 at 6:00 pm. The 2003 version of “Luther” will be shown. Pizza and snacks will be served. Please sign up in the hallway. OUR STAFF PRAYS each morning during devotions for four of our students and staff. They are also prayed for during morning announcements. SCRIP News - Buying SCRIP is a great way to earn funds for Child Care, Washington, D.C. trip and Education Fees. Some families have earned hundreds of dollars just by buy SCRIP for things they normally purchase - gas, food, gifts, etc. SCRIP offers hundreds of cards, many of which are reloadable and available as e-cards. Gift cards make great Christmas gifts! You can check it out at shopwithscrip.com or stop in the office and inquire. In order for your credit to go to your account, you will need to get St. Paul’s code number to order cards online. Presto Pay is an option for ordering and paying online. This makes it very easy to reload gift cards. Once it’s all set up it takes just a few seconds to place an order.
KEEP SAVING BOX TOPS - This is an ongoing project. Winners of the last contest will be announced in the next SPIRIT. SAVE THE DATE - Advent by Candlelight, Sunday, Decmeber 3, 2:00-4:00 pm. CHRISTMAS PROGRAM - “The Power of the King!” Parts have been assigned and students are practicing. Performances will be Thursday, December 14 at 10:00 am and Saturday, December 16 at 6:00 pm, followed by an after-glow. Pre-school through 8th grade will be participating. Band and handbell choirs will be involved.
