Spirit Squad (Cheerleading and Dance) GENERAL INFORMATION
Cheerleading squad perfor ms at home gir ls’ and boys’ games and all state ser ies games (r egional, sectional, state) Dance team performs at home boys’ and girls’ games Game schedules are posted online at: il.8to18.com/mortonjhs/ Additional cost: shoes, camp clothes, briefs, turtleneck, warm-up suit Parents assist in the concession stand: cheerleading - girls basketball games; dance - boys basketball games All students intending to try-out, MUST have a current sports physical and insurance waiver on file in the office. When these items are turned in to the office, you will receive a green card; give this card to the coach. Coaches will not let anyone try-out or practice until they receive this “green card”.
Informational try-out meeting: Wednesday, April 27 at 5:15pm in the MJHS gym All Parents and girls are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to attend Following the meeting there will be a short clinic showing the girls what types of skills will be judged at try-outs
Dance - July 26, 5:00-7:00; Cheerleading - July 27, 5:00-7:00 Learn try-out routine from coaches and former cheer/dance team members
Friday, July 29: Dance - 4:00; Cheerleading - 6:00 Perform try-out routine in front of judges
