Dear Treasures for Children Sponsor: Back to school is upon us once again and for those of us at The Salvation Army that means Christmas plans for our Treasures for Children program are already up and running. The continued charitable giving of our donors keeps the Treasures for Children program going for our families in need throughout Allegheny County which is home to our largest centralized toy collection in Western Pennsylvania, serving over 10,000 children each year. This is only accomplished with the commitment from donors who give so generously to the program each year. Keeping this in mind, I am contacting you to see if your company/group would consider once again joining the hundreds of sponsors in Allegheny County. Included in this mailing is a sample poster as well as the necessary sponsorship form. Once you’ve reviewed the information, I hope that you will join us as a 2017 Sponsor. As you fill out the form, please note the following: e Choose a number of tags based on the size and participation of your company/group. If you are uncertain of participation, it is recommended that you take into account the amount done in the past years, which I can provide to you if needed. You can always request additional tags during the shopping period. e New for 2017...If you would like an electronic list of the tags you receive; please indicate so on your form. Some sponsors have requested this in the past as a way to track their donations. e Toys and gifts for the Treasures for Children Program are delivered to our Green Tree Warehouse or picked up from your location. Choose either delivery or pick-up on the form. If choosing pick-up, rank your pick-up day options as 1st, 2nd or 3rd and list your office hours by each day. Your assigned pick-up date will be included in the letter that arrives with your tags. Please understand that we cannot guarantee a specific pick-up time due to the volume of locations and not all sponsors will be able to receive their first choice. Provided this form is received by the indicated due date, the number of tags and posters requested by your company/group will be mailed out during the week of October 30. We encourage all sponsor sites to run their toy collection process in a way that fits the needs of their company/group. Please contact me if you have any questions as I would be more than happy to discuss any details of the program with you and can be reached by e-mail or phone, listed above. Please consider giving a child a Christmas to treasure this year by donating to The Salvation Army’s Treasures for Children Program.

Sincerely,

Leah Cross Treasures for Children Coordinator
