Executive Board; On Tuesday, March 25 the Sponsorship and Donations Committee had a meeting to discuss a number of requests. The following are the recommendations being made to the Board. 1. Kinesiology Society Sponsorship Requested: $1000 Donation Recommendation $250 The donation was towards the Kinesiology Games 2014, but since the Committee didn’t meet in time to sponsor the Kin Games, we decided to give them a donation of $250. 2. SSBTR Sponsorship Requested: $300 Donation Recommendation: $100 The Committee didn’t meet in time to be able to sponsor the SSBTR Charity Casino night. The Casino night proceeds went towards DR. Sheila Singh's extensive research on brain tumors, so the Committee decided to donate $100 to Dr. Sheila Singh’s lab. 3. DeGroote Graduation Gala Sponsorship Requested: $300 Donation Recommendation: $100 The date had already passed on this event by the time the Committee met, so the recommendation was to donate $100 towards any possible leftover costs. 4. Bachelor of Health Sciences Outreach Program Sponsorship Requested: $500 Donation Recommendation: $100 Proceeds towards Math Enrichment Day, an all-day on campus event for Hamilton elementary school students. 5. Allison Chandler (Pegasus Conference about Peace, Global Health and Sustainability) Donation Requested: $450
Donation Recommendation: $250 Proceeds towards Allison Chandler representing McMaster at an international conference. 6. Dana Russell (Hollaback! Hamilton) Donation Requested: $250 Donation Recommendation: $250 @ Underground The request was to help out with printing costs of an event held in Bridges. The event is about raising awareness to the issue of street harassment. 7.
Samantha Moraes - OAMRS (Ontario Association of Medical Radiation Science) 2014 Annual General Conference Donation Requested: $360.08 Donation Recommendation: $250 Proceeds towards Samantha to attend the two day conference to learn about the best practices, new technology, and cutting edge research in the field of Radiation Science. 8. Ceinwen Pope Donation Requested: $175.15 Donation Recommendation: $175.15 Proceeds towards honours thesis project regarding Prenatal Smoking Cessation Incentives Program 9. Phebe Li (Global Volunteer Network) Donation Requested: $2643.20 Donation Recommendation: $250 Proceeds towards a trip to Peru to contribute towards the Disabled Children Program through the Global Volunteer Network. 10. Start-up Weekend Hamilton 2014 Sponsorship: $500 Sponsorship Recommendation: $500 Supporter Level Sponsorship Start-up Weekend in Hamilton is putting on an event in partnership with McMaster Entrepreneurship Association (MEA). With the level of sponsorship recommended we would receive the following: our logo will be included on all print materials and on the SWH14 website (hamilton.startupeweekend.org) the MSU will be mentioned at the event and during the promotional stages as well as table place cards with the MSU listed on them our name and logo would be included in all media released for the event we will be recognized as the exclusive supporter of one of the following items: Friday Night Dinner, Saturday Night Dinner, T-shirts, A/V, or creative supplies With this recommendation we will be giving out a total of $2225.15 of our Sponsorship and Donations Budget. With that we have given out a total of $9090.15 for the 2013/14 fiscal year. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask any of the Committee members.
