Please Respect our STAFF



NO food or drink



All injuries must be reported as soon as they occur. Come in for treatment when injured or ill.



No Cleats or Spikes



No Tabacco products



Take a shower before treatment



No equipment is to leave the Athletic Training Room



No horseplay or Abusive Language



No shoes on treatment table

ICE BATH IN TRAINING ROOM PLEASE

SHOWER BEFORE GETTING IN THE COLD TUB INSIDE THE TRAINING ROOM



No socks or tape



8-10 MINUTES

CHAMPIONSHIP HYDRATION Body Cannot Function Without Water  Vital For All Living Matter  Needed For Survival  70 % of Body Weight  75 % of Muscle Mass  80 % of Brain Mass  Prevent SOFT TISSUE INJURIES (muscle strain etc) 

SIGNS OF DEHYDRATION 

Thirst/Dry Sticky Mouth



Dark Urine Color



Weakness



Sunken Eyes



Mental Changes(Headaches, Dizziness)



Racing Heart



Stop Sweating

CHAMPIONSHIP HYDRATION 

Stay away from Creatine and Ephedrine (all energy drinks).



No Caffeine (no sodas and avoid alcohol)



Report any Diarrhea or Fever

CONCUSSION 

What is a Concussion? A

concussion is a brain injury that:



Is caused by a blow to the head or body.



Can change the way your brain normally works.



Can range from mild to severe



Presents itself differently for each athlete.



Can occur during practice or competition in ANY sport.



Can happen even if you do not lose consciousness.

What are the Symptoms of A Concussion? 

Amnesia



Confusion



Headache



Loss of Consciousness



Balance Problem or Dizziness



Double or fuzzy vision



Sensitivity to light or noise



Slowed reaction time.



Nausea (feeling that you might vomit)



Feeling sluggish, foggy, or groggy.



Feeling unusually irritable.



Concentration or memory problems (forgetting game plays, facts, meeting times).

What Should I Do If I think I have A Concussion? Don’t

What to look for– MRSA looks like a spider bite, a wound with a round red circle around it larger than a nickel with a pustule in the middle

MRSA can live on a blanket for 203 days and on a cotton towel for 9 weeks

is your responsibility to check with the Sports Medicine Staff before using any substance or medication

NOT use any medication other than given to you by the team physician or athletic trainers

Report any illness or injury— especially fever, diarrhea and concussions



No Alcohol, Illegal Drugs and Caffeine
