2 CURRENT HAPPENINGS Adult Forum – Meets Sundays at 9:10am. We are reading and discussing “The Book of Joy” by Desmond Tutu and the Dalai Lama. Ingathering breakfast/brunch - Sunday, November 12, following the 8:00 am and 10:30 am services Men’s Breakfast – Meets Tuesdays at 6:30am at Zeppoz. All men and women are welcome. Morning Prayer– Meets Wednesdays at 8:30am followed by coffee and conversation. Lectionary study – Meets Thursdays at 7 pm in the Canterbury Room to read, mark, and inwardly digest the lectionary (scripture) readings for the following Sunday. You are invited to sign up for a Sinners’ Dinner, which is a shared meal with 4-7 other parishioners in someone’s home. The only agenda item is getting to know some other people better. They are usually held on the 4th weekend of January, February and March, but hosts do have some flexibility. Each person/family who signs up hosts one month, but if you are not able to host, you may still sign up as a substitute. The host provides the main dish for the dinner, and each guest brings a part of the dinner (a salad, vegetable, bread or dessert). Let Travis Ridout (

3 2018 SPRING BREAK MISSION TRIP The Rev. C. Shane Moore of Simpson United Methodist Church is organizing and leading a Wesley Foundation mission trip to San Diego during WSU's 2018 spring break. The plan is for a group of ten to twelve students, both undergraduate and graduate, to fly out of Pullman Saturday March 10 and fly back Friday March 16. Participants will perform various service projects in low-income areas, organized by Sierra Service Project, and reflect on what they see and learn. Each participant is asked to pay $100 and bring money for incidentals. Remaining costs are expected to be met through fund raising. University students at St. James' are invited to let Shane, Linda Young, or Roy Johnson know of your possible interest. OPPORTUNITIES FOR SERVICE AND GIVING
Food Bank – Thank you for your ongoing support of the food bank! Although all items are graciously accepted, the Community Food Bank has these particular needs at this time: pasta, canned vegetables, canned fruit, soups (all kinds), chunky soups and canned meals, and frozen or canned meats. Please double bag canned goods. If you would like, you can write a check to the “Community Food Bank” and Cheryl will deliver it and bring you a receipt the following week. Holiday Food Donations: Turkey, ham, chickens, potatoes (fresh or boxed), yams or sweet potatoes (fresh or canned), pumpkin, flour, shortening, sugar, spices, eggs, and vegetables (fresh or canned).
