UBE DAY AT ST. PHILIP Sunday, September 28, 2014 8am & 10:30am Services Included in our Services: 1. Brief overview of UBE given by Debby Stokes at both Services. 2. Reflections of 2014 UBE Meeting given by Dwayne Hall and Jonathan Slaughter at 10:30am Service only. 3. All lose $$ in the offering at both Services on Sunday, September 28th will go to UBE to help with cost of the Wax Statue of Absalom Jones being placed in the African-Am Wax Museum in Baltimore, MD. 4. eNews St. Philip Episcopal Church Aluminum-Can Collection + Other Scrap Metal beginning Sunday, September 28th
Save your aluminum cans, rinse any food particles out, bring them to St. Philip and drop them in the "aluminum Can Container" outside our Parish Hall (place to be determined). Each Sunday our Sunday School youth will smash the cans so the container can hold more cans. When the "Aluminum Can Container" is full, the container will be taken to the scrap yard and the cans will be recycled. In turn, our Parish will receive payment for the cans. This money will go into our UBE fund which will help to pay for the Absalom Jones wax statue and sending our youth to UBE Convention in 2015. If you have any other scrap metal or wiring--old cars, stoves, refrigerators, anything that has wires, etc., you can drop them at the Scrap Yard at 17TH & JOYCE and tell them you are from St. Philip Episcopal Church. They will process your item(s) and give you a ticket. Then they will send a check to St. Philip. Thanks for your support!
