NOTICE ALL BIDDERS FOR THE: Kansas State School for the Blind and Kansas State School for the Deaf Roth, Emery, Irwin & Edlund Intercampus Fire Alarm Improvements Olathe and Kansas City, Kansas You are instructed to read and to note the following described changes, corrections, clarifications, omissions, deletions, additions, approvals and statements pertinent to the Contract Bid and Construction Documents. The Addendum No.2 is a part of the Contract Bid and Construction Documents and shall govern in the performance of the Work. Article 2-1, Pre-Bid Conference Attendance Sheet (attachment): A.
The Pre-Bid Conference Attendance Sheet is attached for reference.
Article 2-2, Specification Section 012300 - Alternates: A.
Reference Article 3.1, Paragraph A, Alternate 1, Subparagraph 1. Change to read: Provide fire alarm improvements at Emery Hall (KSSD), Irwin Hall (KSSB) and Edlund Hall (KSSB) in accordance with the drawings and specifications.
Article 2-3, Electrical and Fire Monitoring Clarifications: A.
Exposed raceways in buildings (where necessary and approved) shall be Wiremold-style raceway, and not EMT.
B.
The Contractor shall test the fiber strands provided by the Owner prior to beginning the work, to ensure that they are in usable condition, and shall report their findings to the Architect and Engineer.
C.
All low-voltage wiring installed in ceiling cavities shall be plenum-rated.
Article 2-4, Drawing Sheet E001 – General Information: A.
On Detail 1, the work shown in Edlund Hall should be identified as being a part of Alternate #1.

Article 2-5, Drawing Sheet E201 – Roth Administration: A.
A new fire system panel will be installed in the closet under the stair noted on the plan as the location of the existing fiber and network equipment. Provide a 20A.120V. circuit to this location, fed from the nearest 120volt branch circuit panelboard. Connect to a spare 20A.1P.120V. breaker or provide a matching breaker in an existing space. Provide a red handle lock-on clip for the breaker.
