1 STATEMENT BY REPRESENTATIVE OF THE UPPER WEST REGIONAL MPs CAUCUS Date: 8th October, 2015 Venue: GNAT Hall, Wa ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Thank you very much for inviting me but first of all, the leader of our caucus is Honourable Mathias Asoma Puozaa and he has asked me to speak on behalf of my colleagues and my other 10 Members of Parliament. Mr. Chairman, my senior house prefect at Lawra and who is representing the House of Chiefs, members of the Council of State, my colleague Members of Parliament, political party representatives, we MPs of Upper West are grateful to you, NDPC, for inviting us to participate in this important event. We feel so because many people say we are not in the region, they organise events but they don’t invite us; but you have done so. You know that as part of our job, we are to help in the formulation of certain policies in Parliament but we collectively do so with the District Assemblies and we participate fully in whatever they do. With this new planning process, we assure you that we will put our talent, our skills and experience to the task so that whatever the output at the end, it will be something that we are all proud of. As MPs, we will readily get involved in development activity. We will collaborate on projects and help in their implementation, so it is better for us if we have a long-term frame work within which we all work. It is refreshing that NDPC has done this wonderful job by consulting. I thank you once again for granting us this opportunity.
