STMA Youth Hockey Association Meeting Minutes – Monday, February 11, 2013 Gambling Report (Full Report Attached Below) Expenditures approved. Scholarship information has been submitted to the High School Secretary’s Report Approved – Becky R/Rick G Treasurer’s Report For the month of January, the association has deposits of $49,959.17; consisting of payments for the 2012-2013 season. Disbursements of %59,855.12; consisted of away tournaments, away scrimmages, skills training, administrative expenses, reimbursed coaches USA Hockey registration, referees for D5 games, dryland facilities costs, and ice rental. President’s Report Keep emotions in check during playoff season – represent us well! We are officially a line item on the arena board’s agenda. Arena looking to charge $10/hour more next year. Feasibility study will be done at the end of the month. A Joint Powers meeting will be held in April. Working on a plan to help manage the concession stand at the arena – more to come. Hockey Development Report Districts are starting – make sure everyone double checks schedules. Skills sessions going forward – cancelled. Need a better system for cancelling sessions. HOC looking ahead at next year for skills ideas. Open Forum Kurt Haring, the owner of Acceleration MN Great feedback from the RiverHawks about Acceleration NW in Ramsey. They will be offering a 15% discount for STMAYHA until next season. Maybe looking to work with the boys next season to compliment the dryland facility. Coordinator’s Reports Coaching – Jason Johnson No Report District 5 Liaison – Paul Berning Disciplinary problems – way too many for STMAYHA! Coaches have been suspended and too many game misconducts by players. District standings will be updated daily. Lobbying will need to begin again for district realignment. Initiation – Becky Rogalski/Brent Evenson Jamborees are full. 6 girls teams and 12 Mite teams. Approved motion for medals for the Initiation players. (Paul B/Rick G) Squirt – Kari Wise Squirt As heading to Fargo. Need to look into pros/cons of equal or staggered B teams for next season. PeeWee – Paul Borgen All 4 teams will win their district divisions! Bantam – Brent Bjorlin AA and B1 first in the district. Both teams will be seeded #1 Girls – Nate Allen12UA Tourney committee has done a great job! Looking ahead to next season – possibly will have 2 teams at all three levels. Tryout dates need to be discussed.

High School Boys and Girls No Report Junior Gold – Jane Helgestad Will end up at the top of their conference (with Buffalo) with wins tonight and Thursday. Thursday is last game of season (Senior night) Tournament at end of February. Registration – Jen Tourville/Kristin Huber Still Closed. Registration will be July sometime. Information will be posted on the website. Fundraising – Tammy Tupper Knight to Remember event will be held at the end of April at the arena. Candy and Papa Murphy cards will be sold at the Jamborees. Sponsorship – Adam Smiglewski No Report Equipment – Mike Fette Mini Nets will be purchased from Daves Sport Shop. $79/each plus discount. Ice Scheduler – Cully Reinbold Ice will be posted week by week into the post season. Keep Cully informed. Volunteer – Kelly Woods I am adding game-related shifts on Dibs until they are maxed out to the one remaining shift of gambling. Website – Jeannie Putnam No Report Skate Program – Lisa Remer Skate gifts are all out to the coordinators, with the exception of the girls. The gifts were STMA hockey hats. We are waiting for the girls' to come in. Old Business

New Business Travel Jerseys – RiverHawks Speak to Mike Fette/Nate Allen for further information. 9 voting member said yes to the association purchasing the RiverHawks travel jerseys. Further information will be presented at the March meeting.

Rink Divider USA Hockey will be proposing only ½ games for all Mite skaters. No tiered levels. MN Hockey will be fighting these changes. If this passes, we may need to purchase rink dividers that look and feel like actual boards. The arena and D5 may help in the cost. $6995 a set.

We will be accepting Volunteer and Coach of the Year nominations in March!
