Subject of Action Item: Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) Research Funding Submitted By: MASDA (Director Jon Hagler, Missouri) Text of Action Item: NASDA strongly encourages Congress and the USDA to continue to fund and support basic research to address CCD.
Background & Rationale: Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) in the US honey bee population is a serious problem that has a significant negative impact on agriculture nationwide. According to the USDA, bee pollination is responsible for more than $15 billion in increased crop value each year.
