Suffield Little League Meeting Minutes Date: October 4th, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. Location: Suffield Police Department Meeting Room Rob, John, Present: Paul Mandirola Lou Riccelli Bill Baril Derek Sickman Sharan Gomes Jason Jamrog Rob Faber John Lipski

1. Welcome and introduce new board members Welcomed new board Rob and John 2. Review important date calendar Reviewed dates and modified dates, Paul will amended important date calendar and recirculate to board members 3. Review contact list for new members Paul to update and recirculate for approval 4. Treasurers Report No changes since our annual meeting 5. Suffield On The Green Update Not a fundraiser was used to get our name out Sold $175 in apparel

Update on current field improvements Backstops for bullpens are up AAA tarps have been ordered estimated arrival 3 weeks AAA field should be closed immediately due to safety issues Our other field groomer is at the High School and trying to store it in our shed Softball needs to have a flag set up and get score board running 7. Promoting Suffield Little League Attend Spaulding Book Fair October 28th to recruit younger players Lou to provide flyer Bring equipment and uniforms Prompt pricing for younger players Bill will get us space Instructional fee $50 enroll starting in Kindergarten 8. Fundraising – Brian ( not present) Idea’s for 2017 Pasta Supper, Hockey and Yard Goats Pasta supper; same location Hockey and Yard Goats 9. Training Baseball Player Development - do we hold the same program in 2016- Bill will take the lead and have it start 6 weeks prior to evaluations? Location – East Windsor Dome or another location – Derek will work with Dome to get time schedule; 2 tunnels for 6 weeks Majors players offsite strength training What age brackets should we offer and duration Baseball Pitching development & Pitching – potentially Dome Page 2 of 3
Softball Player Development – Can reach out to Andy to see if he is willingly to handle this again. 10. Umpire Chief Recommendations – thoughts on replacement Kyle Eheander Certified Athletic Umpire (not sure if he is interested), Hartford Board covers major games Umpire clinic in April Bill would still handle 11. Wood Bat’s for Majors’ and AAA South Windsor has gone to wooden bats due to safety issues; we are looking to get information from that town. Additional due diligence is needed to see if we should switch. 12. Equipment Bag Suggestion Inventory Sheet – John is working on this John, Paul and Derek to run through equipment weekend of October 17th 13. Fall Clean-up Discuss what needs to get completed Same as last year; pre-meeting 14. Executive Summary Board Meeting Immediately following open session (tabling) 15. All-Star Director and Skill Competition Coordinator Derek Sickman appointed All-Star Director Sharan Gomes appointed Skill Competition Coordinator
