Alpha Pi Chapter Summer 2015 Newsletter

Strike Out Arthritis was a hit! On March 29, Alpha Pi held its second annual Strike Out Arthritis philanthropy event! This year, our chapter hosted a whiffle ball tournament at the intramural fields in Heritage Grove. We were happy to have the support of not only members of our fellow Greek organizations, but also everyone in the FSU community who came out to play some whiffle ball, have fun, and raise money for arthritis research. Of the 14 teams who participated in our event, Sigma Phi Epsilon was the whiffle ball champion. We are proud to announce that we raised $4,710 for arthritis research. As stated by our philanthropy chair Kayleigh Koskan, “After months of planning and stressing, our event, Strike Out Arthritis, was a hit (literally)! I had so much fun putting this all together and watching everyone enjoy it! We're one step closer to finding a cure!” -Emily Prendergast

Parents’ Weekend 2015 On Friday, April 17 our families made their way to Tallahassee for Alpha Pi’s Family Weekend. We gathered at the FSU circus tent on Friday night for a captivating show. Saturday we were able to see the FSU Baseball team conquer, and then made our way to Madison Social for a luncheon with good food and friends. It was the perfect way for our families to meet our sisters who we have been talking about all year long. Sunday we said goodbye to our families at the perfect farewell breakfast at the Lofts. It was a great way to end a wonderful weekend.

Relay For Life This year, we made it our mission to raise as much money as we possibly could for Relay for Life because we have so many sisters that have been directly affected by the horrible disease that is cancer. We are proud to announce that we raised $18,353.65 and that we were the winners of Greek Week on campus! Greek Week is a competition between all the Greek councils at FSU with different fundraising opportunities and fun challenges. We had a great time! -Allena Smith
