SUMMER HOCKEY Small Sticks Hockey Rules Year 3-4 Who; Small Sticks caters to all children, no matter their experience. All about the fun and getting children into sport.
Rules; Normal FIH Hockey 5’s rules apply with the following clarifications and additions;
Games will be played on a quarter turf , 30 mins non stop
Teams can have as many players as they wish, 6 players on the field at any one time, no goalkeepers
Modified light ball used
Only use flat side of the stick only
The ball cant be deliberately stopped by the foot or kicked, play will continue if accidental
Free hit and side-line hit everyone must be 5meters away
Scoring zone is within the circle. Any defence infringement within the circle a free hit outside the circle
Long corners are taken in line with the top of the circle
There are no penalty corners
The ball cannot be hit or lifted
Competition points; Win = 3 points, Draw = 1 point, Loss = 0 points
