SUMMER HOCKEY Hockey 5’s Hockey Rules Who; Hockey 5’s is a preseason competitive competition for all our Open Grade teams (P2-R3) to get together and get a head start in training before the winter competition begins. Men and Women Competitions will be separate. Rules; Normal FIH Hockey 5’s rules apply with the following clarifications and additions;
Games are non stop, 30 mins and a half turf.
Teams can have as many players as they wish, 5 players are permitted to be on the field at any one time.
Goalkeeper optional
A team may score anywhere on the field, including directly from a free hit; Inside the 11m = 3 point Outside the 11m = 1 point
There are no penalty corners, instead a free hit from the 11m area as marked on the turf
Hitting is permitted in field play, not at goal.
Competition points; Win = 3 points, Draw = 1 point, Loss = 0 points Please keep in mind that any grade is subject to the amount of registrations. All teams will be informed of any significant changes before the start date. Available Block 2 only 22nd January– 16th March 2018
