SUMMER TENNIS 2013 JUNIOR TENNIS COACHING AT WOLDINGHAM LTC SUMMER TERM All programmes start on Tuesday 23rd April 2013 and will run for 10 weeks.

Mini Tennis Red and Mini Tennis Red Awards Age 8 Years and Under. Tuesdays 4.45pm-5.30pm Mini Tennis Red is for players aged 8 & under. A foam or felt ball is used which is 75% slower than a yellow ball. The court has dimensions of 11m x 5.5m or 12m x 6m.The net is at a height of 80cm (in the middle). Mini Red is a fantastic introduction to tennis with the emphasis being on developing tennis skills and basic technique whilst having lots of fun.
Mini Tennis Orange and Mini Tennis Orange Awards Age 8-9 Years. Tuesdays 5.30pm-6.15pm Mini Tennis Orange is a great way for players to continue their progress from Mini Tennis Red and is for players aged 8 and 9. It is played with softer balls and courts are bigger and wider than the red stage but still smaller than full-size tennis courts allowing players to develop a rounded game whilst learning a range of techniques and tactics. It is the next stage before playing on a full sized court and helps players develop different shots and tactics. An orange ball is used which is 50% slower than a yellow ball, giving players better control. Mini Tennis Orange is played on a 18m x 6.5m court. The net height is 80cm at the middle of the net. This session will include coaching on all aspects of technique, with realistic practice using a variety of drills and fun games. Match play coaching will be given in both singles and doubles play, whilst emphasising maximum fun and enjoyment at all times. This session includes a week by week competition where points are awarded and collected with a trophy being awarded at the end of each term, along with a runners up medal for second place. A most improved player award will also be given. Mini tournaments will be held throughout the term.
Mini Tennis Green and Mini Tennis Green Awards Age 9-11 Years. Tuesdays 6.15pm-7.00pm Mini Tennis Green is a great way for players to continue their progress from Mini Tennis Orange. It is played on a full size tennis court, with bigger rackets and balls which are a little softer than yellow balls. It’s the next stage before moving on to full compression yellow balls on a full sized court and helps players develop and improve all aspects of their game. Mini Tennis Green is for players aged 9 -11. A green ball is used, which is 25% slower than a yellow ball. Mini Tennis Green is played on a normal size court. The net is at full height. This session will include coaching on all aspects of technique, with realistic practice using a variety of drills and fun games. Match play coaching will be given in both singles and doubles play, whilst emphasising maximum fun and enjoyment at all times. This session includes a week by week competition where points are awarded and collected with a trophy being awarded at the end of each term, along with a runners up medal for second place. Junior Tennis Yellow ball Age 10 + Years. Tuesdays 7.00pm-7.45pm This session is normal junior tennis played using a normal yellow ball on a full sized court. This session will include coaching on all aspects of technique, with realistic practice using a variety of drills and fun games along with tactical coaching and help with how to play matches. Match play coaching will be given in both singles and doubles play, whilst emphasising maximum fun and enjoyment at all times. This session includes a week by week competition where points are awarded and collected with a trophy being awarded at the end of each term, along with a runners up medal for second place. A most improved player award will also be given. Mini tournaments will be held throughout the term.
Elite Squad Match play and Drills practice. Tuesdays 7.45pm-8.30pm This session is for players who have been invited to attend and presents a more advanced coaching session including help with technique tactics and match play, but all practiced in a more pressurized and demanding format emphasising footwork and fitness in realistic and challenging drills and match play scenarios.
