Sunday 8th October, 2017 Our vision statement is based on Romans 12:2, ‘transforming communities one life at a time.’ If you have any questions, or need directions around our buildings, please chat to people wearing yellow lanyards or go to the Information Kiosk in the foyer. If you’d like someone to pray for you, please feel free to approach someone wearing a red lanyard or come to the front of the auditorium at the conclusion of services. Whether its information or prayer, we’re here to help you. If English is not your first language, a copy of the transcript of the morning service message is usually available at the Information Desk and is also on our website with the audio of the message from Monday morning.

Our services today: 9.00am

10.45am

John Tucker, Windsor Park member and newly appointed Principal of Carey Baptist College, is speaking. John will be challenging us to think about the implications of the Great Commission.

6.30pm Andrew Clark-Howard, an intern here at Windsor Park and in his first year of training in the Youth Pastoral Leadership track at Carey Baptist College, is speaking.

Useful Apps We’re encouraging you to use the WPBCguest wifi when you’re in church (password ‘transforming’) to download some useful apps that we recommend: The New City Catechism helps children and adults learn the core doctrines of the Christian faith via 52 questions and answers. The New City Catechism mobile app makes it easy to take all of the questions and answers with you. Check it out today, and most importantly, download it for free while you’re in church today!

The Pastor’s Pen Kia ora Koutou One of the things I love about Windsor Park is the diversity of people who contribute to our community life. Over September we enjoyed some fantastic services, and this continues into October. Last week we loved hosting Noel Pabiona with our friends from TearFund and this week we begin three weeks of hearing from staff and students of Carey Baptist College. This morning we’ll hear from newly appointed Principal John Tucker and then in the evening from first year Youth Pastoral Leadership student Andrew Clark-Howard. Next Sunday evening we’ll hear from Shawn Means who is undertaking the preaching course at Carey, and then the following Sunday morning we’ll hear from Traceylee Martin who is in her first year of the Pastoral Leadership track at Carey – and all these fine people are part of our faith community here at Windsor Park. To have so many people involved in leading and training at Carey is something we should all embrace as being incredibly powerful – we’re not only training leaders but being the leaders and helping to make a significant difference to our denomination and to NZ in the name of mission, which of course is the Great Commission! I’m grateful for these people, and grateful that God is using WP as a training ground for so many. May there be more in the future!
