Itinerary available at fbcsanger.com
Pastor’s Pen VBS is almost here. I am looking forward to hearing reports. While we are having VBS here, a team from our church will be in Honduras on a mission trip. We are planning to join the VBS class mission times from Honduras through the use of technology. Our kids will get to hear first hand reports of what God is doing in another country from myself and the rest of the team throughout the week. Keep the Honduras Mission team in your prayers as we travel and serve with Isaiah 61 Ministries. We will be teaching in a conference, visiting in homes, speaking on the radio in Honduras and working alongside fellow believers. At the same time we are serving in Honduras, many of you will be here working to reach children with the Gospel. VBS serves as our single biggest outreach of the year. Make sure to plan on being here and helping us reach the children of Sanger with the Gospel. I look forward to hearing great reports as we check in throughout the week.

Exercise for People Over 60! 1. Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side. 2. With a 5-lb potato bag in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute, and then relax. 3. Each day you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer. After a couple of weeks, move up to 10lb potato bags. 4. Then try 50-lb potato bags and then eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-lb potato bag in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute. (I'm at this level.) After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each bag. “He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.” Colossians 1:17
We are all guilty of exercises in futility from time to time and some are worse than others. But, most of us hate wasting our time. Technology is always sold as something that will enable us to be more effective or save time, but it doesn’t always do what it says it will do. We must ask ourselves from time to time, “Am I doing what I need to be doing to fulfill God’s purpose for my life, or am I fulfilling someone else’s purposes? God, in all His magnificent glory, designed us and this world for a purpose, a greater purpose than just existence. We were created for the purpose of knowing and serving our Heavenly Father. Vacation Bible School begins this Sunday! And we will be learning about God’s purpose for our lives. So many in our church are helping reach out to our community and teach our children by teaching, leading, providing snacks, and helping in the parking lot. I appreciate you all. I hope you are praying for our teachers and the children that will come. BUT, there’s one more way to serve: Come to Family Night on Thursday at 6:00. We will have a brief program so you and the parents can see what we’ve been doing all week. Following the service we will have a cake and ice cream fellowship. It would be awesome for you to come and fellowship with our guests. Hope to see you there!

Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 24 I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.” ~Lamentations 3:22-24
