We are delighted to let you know that our new website is now live on www.sutherlandprimary.co.uk . The site contains lots of useful information including a range of policies, the latest Sutherland Sentinel, diary dates and the 2015 test results which allow you to compare how we are doing compared with schools and academies nationally.

Parents Evening Building Improvements The programme of fitting solar safety film to the south-facing elevation of our two-storey building will begin within the next two weeks. This will improve light and heat control within these classrooms.

We are holding this year’s Settling In Parents Evening on Thursday 8th October. This is an opportunity to meet your child’s new class teacher formally and to discuss how well your child has begun the new academic year in their new class. It is also a chance to exchange information about areas that we can work on together to improve how well your child is doing in school. More details about making appointments will follow soon.

Golden Homework and Golden Reading Just a reminder that every child will be sent home with a reading book and homework each week as well as times tables and spellings or letter sounds to learn. Please help ensure that your child does these on time in order to earn their bonus Reading and Homework Golden Stamps! Collecting these bonus stamps will help your child to save more (10 stamps per week are available to them for following the Golden Rules and showing themselves as fully committed learners!) for their Golden Activities at the end of each half term.

Golden Ticket City Catering will be running a Golden Ticket event on Wednesday 23rd September. ‘One lucky customer will find a Golden Ticket under their plate and win a prize!’ If you would like your child to have a dinner on Wednesday 23rd, and have a chance of winning, please send in £2.10 on Monday to book the meal for Wednesday. Children who usually have school dinners will automatically be included.
