Sew one 2 ½” x 6 ½” Fabric J strip to the left end of one 2 ½” Fabric G square. Sew one 2 ½” Fabric J square to the right end of the strip to make one Unit 3 (Fig. 3). Repeat to make three Unit 3’s total.

Sew one 2” x 2 ½” Fabric J strip to the left end of one 2 ½” Fabric G square. Sew one 2 ½” x 7” Fabric J strip to the right end of the strip to make one Unit 4 (Fig. 4). Repeat to make three Unit 4’s total.

Sub-cut the strips into six 4 ½” x 10 ½” strips. • Cut two 10 ½” x WOF strips. Sub-cut the strips into four 10 ½” x 20 ½” strips. • Cut nine 3 ½” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together end to end with diagonal seams and cut six 3 ½” x 58 ½” strips. • Cut one 3 ½” x WOF strip. Sub-cut the strip into four 3 ½” x 4 ½” strips and four 3 ¼” x 4 ½” strips.

Sew one 2 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric J strip to each end of one 2 ½” Fabric G square to make one Unit 1 (Fig. 1). Repeat to make twelve Unit 1’s total. Sew one 2 ½” x 3 ¼” Fabric J strip to the left end of one 2 ½” Fabric G square. Sew one 2 ½” x 5 ¾” Fabric J strip to the right end of the strip to make one Unit 2 (Fig. 2). Repeat to make three Unit 2’s total.

Sew one 2 ½” x 8 ½” Fabric J strip to the bottom of one 8 ½” Fabric A square to make one Unit 6 (Fig. 6). Repeat to make two Unit 6’s total.

Sew one 3 ½” x 6 ½” Fabric J strip to the top of one 6 ½” Fabric B square. Sew one 1 ½” x 6 ½” Fabric J strip to the bottom of the Fabric B square to make one Unit 7 (Fig. 7). Repeat to make a second Unit 7 but reverse the Fabric J strips. Pay attention to the direction of the Fabric B square.

Sew one 2 ½” x 3 ¾” Fabric J strip to the left end of one 2 ½” Fabric G square. Sew one 2 ½” x 5 ¼” Fabric J strip to the right end of the strip to make one Unit 5 (Fig. 5). Repeat to make three Unit 5’s total.

Backing – 25766-Z: Skulls – White • Cut two 66” x WOF strips. Sew the strips together and trim to 66” x 76” for the back.

10. Sew one 4 ½” x 6 ½” Fabric J strip to the top of one 6 ½” Fabric E square to make one Unit 10 (Fig. 10). Repeat to make a second Unit 10. 11. Sew one 2 ½” x 8 ½” Fabric J strip to the bottom of one 8 ½” Fabric B square to make one Unit 11 (Fig. 11). Pay attention to the direction of the Fabric B square. 12. Sew one 3 ¾” x 4 ½” Fabric J strip to the top of one 4 ½” Fabric E square. Sew one 3 ¼” x 4 ½” Fabric J strip to the bottom of the Fabric E square to make one unit 12 (Fig. 12). Repeat to make a second Unit 12.

13. Sew one 3 ½” x 4 ½” Fabric J strip to the top and to the bottom of one 4 ½” Fabric B square to make one Unit 13 (Fig. 13). Repeat to make a second Unit 13. Pay attention to the direction of the Fabric B square. 14. Sew one 3 ½” x 6 ½” Fabric J strip to the top of one 6 ½” Fabric F square. Sew one 1 ½” x 6 ½” Fabric J strip to the bottom of the Fabric F square to make one Unit 14 (Fig. 14).

20. Refer to the Figure 18 to arrange and press the one Fabric C medium circle onto one 4 ½” x 10 ½” Fabric J strip to.

21. Finish the raw edges of each shape with a decorative stitch such as a buttonhole or satin stitch to make one Unit 18.

22. Repeat Steps 20-21 to make four Unit 18’s total.

23. Repeat Steps 20-21 using two Fabric A large circles, four Fabric G small circles and one 10 ½” Fabric J square to make two Unit 19’s (Fig. 19).

19. Press each template onto the wrong side of the fabrics as listed on the templates. Cut out each template on the drawn lines.

18. Following the manufacturer’s instructions, trace the listed number of each template onto the paper side of the fusible web. Roughly cut out each template about 1/8” outside the drawn lines.

26. Repeat Steps 20-21 and sew three Fabric G small circles, one Fabric H X-large circle, one Fabric C large circle and one 10 ½” x 20 ½” Fabric J strip together to make one Unit 22 (Fig. 22). Repeat to make Unit 24 but change the location of the Fabric C and Fabric H circles (Fig. 23).

Quilt Assembly:

(Refer to the Quilt Layout while assembling the quilt top.) 28. Follow the quilt layout and sew the assorted units into five pieced rows as shown. 29. Sew six 3 ½” x 58 ½” Fabric J strips and the five pieced rows together, alternating them, to make the quilt top.

23. Sew the seven 2 ½ x WOF Fabric I strips together, end to end with 45-degree seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half, lengthwise with wrong sides together, and press. 24. Bind as desired.

22. Layer quilt top, batting and backing; baste, quilt as desired. Trim layers even with quilt top.
