Tahoma Lacrosse Board Meeting Minutes Jan 18, 2016, 6:00 Fire Station 81 Attendance: Jo Haverfield, Monica Sauerwein, Bert Warm, Glenna Usselman, Andy Robinson, Amy Besst, Jeni Berry, Andrea Sloan Call to order 6:02 pm 1. Approved December Minutes 2. Scholarships – Motion unanimously approved to rename Girls Scholarship to the Madison Casey scholarship. Jo will be in contact with the PTA committee to talk to them regarding scholarship requirements so we can let them know if we would like additional items taken into consideration. Monica has been in contact with Maple Valley Signs regarding helmet stickers in memory of Madison Casey, if that doesn’t work out, Amy will talk to the Spiritwear people. We will also look into patches for the girls uniforms. 3. Fundraiser for the Casey’s – when the game schedule comes out, Monica will look into a Saturday to do concessions and have all the proceeds go to the Casey family. 4. Sponsorships – we now have 3 Braveheart sponsors. We are at $10,000 in sponsorships. 5. Select Teams – Motion approved to allow players to play any Select team during the offseason, and that we will promote all of the teams available. 6. Cub Program Update - $289 for balls, goals are $52.50 a set, and we need 5 more. They will also needs some cones. These costs are all covered by the already approved budget item. Cubs will run April 12- May 21. $50 per player. $50 deposit for stick. Two elementary schools will allow posters and flyers. Two will allow them to come in at lunch. Andrea will be allowed as an administrator on the Facebook page so she can add Cubs updates. 7. Update on Bylaws Committee – No update. Andy and Dave will work on getting the changes put into the document and get them to us. 8. Additional Board Updates a. Youth Boys Director – First Aid kits – Bert will get 11 new kits.
b. Girls Program Director – Still working on recruiting girls on all teams. Glenna did an ad in the Maple Valley Reporter last week. We need to make decisions on all teams by Feb 21st. Motion unanimously approved that at the High School level players can get $100 credit if they bring in a new girl and the new girl gets a $100 credit when they register and pay. At the youth level they get $50 credit and the new girl gets $50. Glenna will send this information out. c. Logistics – Meeting at the High School last week went well. d. Equipment – Boys and girls shorts are ordered and jersey’s are on time. Adjourned 8:05pm Next Meeting Feb 8th, 6:00
