INTRODUCTION Rangitikei District comprises 4,500 Km2 Population of 14,500 Total network = 1237 Km’s 783 Km sealed 454 Km unsealed 222 bridges (includes culverts greater than 3.4 m2) Approx 4673 culverts 80 Kms Footpaths

separable proportions • AWPT Programme approx 9 Km’s per annum • Resurfacing Programme approx 70 Km’s per annum • Footpath Programme – $85,500 (Maintenance) $80,000 (Renewals)

• The latest NZTA/Audit NZ audit of the network indicated that the network is in good condition • Concerns the affect Forestry Industry may have to the roads
