Meet the Staff Matt Goldsmith, Head Coach [email protected]

In just his 2nd season as head coach, Goldsmith has accumulated a 34-20 record and guided the Lions to back to back playoff births as well as their first NJAC Championship game since 1998. Before TCNJ, Goldsmith spent the past few seasons working as the Head Assistant at this Alma Mater, Amherst College. In his first season on the coaching staff in 2012-13, Goldsmith helped guide Amherst to a 30-2 record and the second national title in program history. The following season, the Jeffs made their fifth appearance in the Final Four and boasted a season mark of 27-4. In 2014-15, Amherst went 21-8 and advanced to the second round of the NCAA championship tournament. Goldsmith also volunteered for USA Basketball the past two summers.

Evan Elberg, Assistant Coach [email protected] Elberg finished his first season as the head assistant under Goldsmith for the Lions. Elberg comes from Washington College (MD) after serving as the assistant there for the 14-15 season. Before that he was an assistant at his Alma Mater, Drew University, where he had a successful four year career. This summer, Elberg helped guide the 15U NJ Roadrunners to a NJ state title.

Pat Tarrant, Assistant Coach [email protected] Tarrant served as the Head Coach for Lawrence High School Varsity boy’s basketball team for 22 years. Serving as a Varsity Head Coach he has compiled over 300 wins and coached four 1,000 point scorers. Tarrant led 11 teams to double digit wins and 9 teams to 15 or more wins.

Elite Session TCNJ Men’s Basketball Elite Session is geared towards high school boy’s who are trying to better their game in order to play at the next level. Camper’s will work closely with TCNJ players and the TCNJ Staff gaining hands on knowledge about what it takes to compete and excel both on and off the court at the collegiate level. The day will include a breakdown of skills, live game action, and a true breakdown of a college basketball practice.
