Texas State Postgame Notes – UL Monroe November 19, 2015 San Marcos, Texas – Bobcat Stadium Attendance: 14,003 Texas State 16, UL Monroe 3 Getting Started  Today’s game captains are: Tyler Jones  Texas State won the toss and elected to defer to the second half.  Texas State celebrated 27 seniors prior to kick-off against the Warhawks. Starters- (offense)- Jones (QB), Lowe (RB), Bellard (LT), Sarabia (LG), Cattaneo (C), Schoenborn (SG), Mayberry (RB), Gaines (WR), Smith (WR), White (TE), Best (WR) (Defense)- Berry (DE), Dallas, Jr. (DE), McClarty (NT), Banks (N), Jeter-Gilmon (LB), McGowan (LB), Alexcee (WK), Shaw (FS), Mims (FC), McDowell (BC), O’Roy (BC) Bobcat Notables  Lawrence White recorded a season-high reception of 23 yards in the opening drive of the game.  White finished the game with a career-high 83 reception yards, topping his previous total of 46 against South Alabama on November 15, 2014.  White also tallied his first receiving touchdown since Southern Miss on Sept. 19, 2015.  White finished with two receiving touchdowns, marking the first time in his career that he had reached two touchdowns in a game.  This marks the sixth consecutive game that Lumi Kaba has kicked at least two, 50+ yard punts. It also marks the third out of the last four games where he has recorded at least three, 50+ yard punts.  Tim Gay recorded his first rush of the 2015 season in the opening drive of the second half. It was a run for 12 yards.  With 85 rushing yards, Robert Lowe moves into fourth all-time in Texas State history with 3,002 yards.  Tyler Jones has now moved into third all-time in total completions. He finished the game with 14 which gives him 534 in his career, passing Barrick Nealy.  Aaron Shaw recorded the third Bobcat interception of the season and first of his career in the fourth quarter. Shaw returned the interception for 73 yards.  Trey McGowan led Texas State with eight tackles, all of which were solo.  Jerrid Jeter-Gilmon finished with a career-high 3.0 tackles for loss. His previous high was 1.0 tackles for loss, 5x, last vs. Georgia State last weekend. Team Notes  The Texas State defense forced three-and-outs on UL Monroe’s first two drives to start the game.  The three points allowed in the first quarter tied the fewest points allowed this season. Texas State allowed a field goal in the first against South Alabama and Prairie View A&M.

 

The Texas State defense allowed just three points, the lowest point total allowed all season. The lowest total prior to tonight allowed by Texas State was zero against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on August 30, 2014. The Bobcat defense allowed just 181, marking the first game under 200 yards since UL Monroe on October 12, 2013. It is the lowest allowed since coach Dennis Franchione’s return in 2011.
