TEXAS STATE POSTGAME NOTES Getting Started  Weather: Sunny and clear, temperature 88 degrees, 17% humidity, wind E 5 mph  Today’s game was nationally-televised by the Pac-12 Network  Today’s game was the first meeting between Texas State and Colorado.  Today’s game marked the first time the Bobcats have played a football against a Pac-12 school.  Tonight’s game marked Texas State’s 963rd game since 1919.  Texas State wore maroon helmets, white jerseys and maroon pants.  Colorado won the coin toss and deferred to the second half. Texas State receives and will defend the north goal line.  This season’s captains are Gabe Loyd, Gabe Schrade, Bryan London and Easy Anyama.  Safety Quinn Tiggs and running back Anthony D. Taylor made his first start of the season and ran for a career-long 55-yard run on the first play from scrimmage to give the Bobcats possession at the Colorado 20-yard line. Gabe Loyd also recorded game-highs and career-highs of 12 tackles against Colorado. It is the second time in his career that Loyd has recorded double digit tackles in a game. He also had 10 tackles at Ohio in 2016. Willie Jones III gained a season-long 10 yards on his first carry to begin the second quarter. Marcus Ripley had a career-long 71-yard punt on Texas State’s first drive in the second quarter. The ball landed at the four-yard line to mark the fourth punt inside the 20-yard line this season.

Damian Williams completed a season-long 45-yard pass to Thurman Morbley. It is Morbley’s secondlongest reception of his career. The pass set up a 32-yard field goal by James Sherman.

Thurman Morbley also had a 23-yard run for the longest run of his career. Noting The Bobcats Gabe Loyd tallied his first sack of the season in the first quarter. Frankie Griffin recorded his second sack of the season. Team Notes Texas State’s defense held opponents scoreless for four straight quarters before Colorado scored a touchdown on a two-yard run by Steven Montez on a quarterback keeper in the second quarter. .
