NASHVILLE STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOUNDATION FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP

The Nashville State Community College Foundation Scholarship is made possible by contributions from NSCC faculty and staff, area businesses and corporations, private foundations, individual friends of the college, and Nashville State Foundation Trustees. Recipients are awarded a maximum of $1000 each year. To apply, please submit your NSCC Financial Aid and Scholarship Application through your myNSCC. You must complete this application each year. We recommend that you submit your application early. Scholarships are awarded to qualified applicants on a first-come, first-awarded basis until funds are expended. Awards will be made contingent upon available funding. Scholarship Criteria: Applicants must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and provide all other requested information to the NSCC Financial Aid Office. Students will be considered for this scholarship if they have an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) that is outside of the range for Pell Grant eligibility, but still have a defined need for financial aid as determined by the Financial Aid Office. Applicants must be pursuing an Associate Degree or eligible Technical Certificate. Recipients must not have earned a prior Bachelor’s Degree. Applicants must have completed at least one semester at NSCC with a minimum of six credit hours earned. Applicants must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative grade point average. Applicants must be in good academic standing and meet satisfactory academic progress standards, as measured for federal Title IV Programs. Students who receive the Foundation Scholarship in the Fall semester must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 and complete six credit hours to remain eligible for the Spring disbursement of the scholarship. Applicable maintenance fee / tuition refunds will be credited to the scholarship except in cases when the student is also receiving federal Title IV benefits and totally withdraws. In such cases, the refund is credited back to the appropriate program(s) according to the NSCC “Return of Title IV Funds” Policy.
