ADMIN Q&A: TONY CORDOVA What is your official title at UTEP and how long have you been working here? My official title at UTEP is Assistant Athletic Trainer, I have been here for 9 years. What is your favorite thing about working in athletics? My favorite thing about working in athletics is that everyday is different. I never get bored because I never know what I am going to experience that day. My favorite part about working with UTEP is how family oriented the athletics department is. Where are you originally from? I am originally from El Paso! I graduated from UTEP with my Bachelors then went to University of New Mexico to get my Master’s. What project or accomplishment do you consider to be the most significant in your career? Oh that’s a hard one. I try to keep every accomplishment on the same level but my most significant accomplishment in my life is my two girls. What was your favorite Halloween costume growing up? Superman! I was Superman several times growing up and still love him. I go to all of the premieres of the movies and have my girls obsessed with Wonder woman. If you were a piece of Halloween candy what would you be? I would be a Sweet Tart because sometimes I am nice and sometimes I can be mean. Werewolf or Zombie? Why? Werewolf for sure. They are a lot cooler than zombies and they aren’t dead.
What tips do you have for student-athletes to stay safe on Halloween night? To get your candy checked by an Athletic Trainer!
