August 15th is the First Day of School! Oilton Public Schools hosted ‘Meet Your Teacher’ Night on Tuesday, August 13th. Special events for students and parents included hotdogs served by Board of Education members Kelly Lasater, John Favalora, Roy Cardwell and Dana Saliba. Also, Oilton Masonic Lodge #467 sponsored the CHIP program for parents and students and David Turner with Oklahoma Farm Bureau displayed a house fire simulator. (See page 2 for pictures)

In September 2012, The Oilton Wingman published the first edition of the ebulletin for grandparents, "like extended family" members, and other allies of Oilton students. The goal of this project is to further strengthen the Oilton community and support for our students. The Oilton Wingman has included: (1) what’s happening at Oilton, (2) upcoming events and activities, (3) celebrations of Oilton student’s accomplishments, (4) information about new programs at Oilton, and (5) thoughts from Oilton student’s about their extended family members. The Oilton Wingman is one of three pilot sites for this research project being conducted by an Oklahoma State University student. The Wingman will continue to be published during the 2013-14 school year. Grandparents, extended family members, and other allies are invited to send comments, ideas, suggestions, or questions to:
