An Epistle from Paul: Has Not God Made Foolish…?: – The following is a true story that was heard on a Wisconsin radio station. Let me use it to illustrate yet another Biblical principle. I assure you the following is true! A man bought a new Lincoln Navigator for $55,000 + with monthly payments close to $600. He and a friend go out on a frozen lake with their guns, a dog and of course the new Navigator. They decided to make an opening for the ducks to see the decoys floating. Out of the back of the Navigator comes a stick of dynamite with a 40 second-fuse. These two Rocket Scientists… afraid they might slip on the ice while running away after lighting the fuse, decided on the following. They would light the fuse and then with a mighty thrust throw the stick of dynamite as far away as possible. Well, this is exactly what they planned and then did. Remember our mentioning a dog. The men had a highly trained Black Lab. You guessed it. The dog took off across the ice and got the stick of dynamite. The two men swallow, blink and start waving their arms and scream to the dog to stop. The dog, now apparently cheered on by his master, keeps coming. One of the men panics, grabs his gun and shoots at the dog. His misses and the dog stops for a moment, slightly confused, but then continues on. Another shot, and this time the dog is terrified thinking these two geniuses have gone nuts! So, the dog takes off to find cover, under the new Navigator. The men continue to scream as they run. The hot exhaust pipe on the truck touches the dog’s rear. He yelps, drops the dynamite under the truck and takes off after his master. A few seconds later – Ka-BOOOM! The truck blows up and sinks to the bottom of the lake leaving the two masterminds with “I can’t believe this just happened” looks on their faces… The dog? He was fine. Later, the insurance company said sinking a vehicle in a lake with illegal use of explosives was not covered… The first payment had yet to be made! 1 Corinthians 1:20 says, “Where is the wise man?... Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?” Yes our God has made foolish the wisdom of this world and we now are privileged to be His children! Let’s use the brains He has given us to apply His principles to life!!!

Four Saints Added to His Church! Not to be outdone this past week by another group… Sunday, April 20th, four individuals came forward, confessed their faith in Christ as the Son of the Living God and were immersed into Him for the remission of their sins and the gift of God’s Spirit. The four added to the Lord’s Church are: Brandon Majors, Shylbie Majors, Tim McVey, and Charity Roach. It was our privilege to witness their confessions and immersions into Christ. We rejoice with the angels in heaven and will be making the addresses of these four available so the church family can write notes of encouragements!!
