Background: This scholarship has been created by the Bolton Baseball Boosters, with the assistance of Beth and Scott Hall and with the assistance of select program sponsors. This scholarship is in memory of Hayes Kent, son of Beth and her husband Scott Hall. On 27 January 2002, Hayes was killed in a single auto accident near his home in Arlington; a life cut far too short. Hayes was a young man full of life, promise and joy and had lived life to its fullest. He was a good son, loving brother, caring friend and earnest teammate. He could light up a room with only his smile. Hayes played for the Bolton Wildcat Baseball team for three years. The Bolton Baseball Boosters Club continues to honor and keep Hayes’ memory alive through various events each year, including our annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Weekend Basketball Tournament; Fall USSSA Baseball Tournament; and other events and activities. It is in the spirit of Hayes Kent’s joy for life, spirit of competition, determination to succeed and his love and devotion for family and friends that this scholarship is awarded.
