SERMON NOTES

This week’s sermon Things Every Man Needs to Know 1 Timothy 5:1-2 Fellow members of the body of Christ are family and should always be treated as such. Men, make a constant effort to see the good in every man older than you and to treat them with respect. Men, find some bros who will run alongside you to keep you accountable and help you run. AND find some guys younger or less spiritually mature than you and pour into them. Men, encourage and value the older women in your life. Add joy to their work by showing them how much you appreciate them. Men, strive to live “in all purity” toward the women in your life.

Digging Deeper into the Message In Titus 2, Paul touches on some of the things that might be in his “Things Every Woman Needs to Know” speech (if he were to give one). Read Titus 2:3-5 and write out some points from that passage that you think every women needs to know about being a woman of God. Then add others that you can think of. If you want to, try writing a short speech you would give to younger women about being a faithful woman of God.

Community Group ICEBREAKER: Name some ways that this group has been like family for you? DISCUSSION QUESTIONS: What happens when older generations stop pouring into the younger generations and teaching them how to live? In what ways can you see this happening in our culture today (both in the Church and outside of the Church)? Who are the people who have helped you the most in understanding what it means to be a man or woman of God? -Did you learn more by what they said or by what they did? -How can both be helpful? Read the 4 points on the front of the MAP that are addressed to Men. Men: Which of the first 2 would you consider the most difficult for you and why? Ladies: What are some ways that the men in your life make you feel valued? What does it tell you about God’s view of you that He tells men to treat you with purity? How can you help and encourage the men around you in this? PERSONAL APPLICATION: Each person name one thing you will do THIS WEEK to apply this message.
