Preparation Prepare the room for an activity that uses glue and water. If you are using the figure template [Link to be inserted], make copies on card or cover stock paper.

Implementation 1. Provide participants with card or cover stock paper to draw the figures they will use as models for their designs. Alternatively, they may use a photocopy of the figure template for which to design clothing. 2. Clothing design:  Method 1: Lay the coffee filter over the figure. The figure should be lightly visible beneath the filter paper. Use pencils to sketch clothing designs on the filter to be cut out after the filter is coloured.  Method 2: Colour the filter first without sketching clothing designs. Design the pieces as they are cut out.

3. Use the markers to colour the entire coffee filter. Encourage different, random patterns. 4. Dab the coloured filter with damp cotton balls or swabs. Do not soak it too much. The marker ink will spread and blend the colours together for a tiedye effect. 5. Allow the filter to dry. During this time, details can be drawn onto the figures (e.g. face, hair). 6. Cut out the clothes and use the glue or tape to stick them onto the figure.
