Tom Hoover Memorial Scholarship Tom Hoover’s wife Kim and two sons Kohl and Garret are certain that Tom would be honored to give back to the community he loved and help deserving youth at the same time through the Tom Hoover Memorial Scholarship. A Quality Engineer for Braun Corporation for 36 years, Tom loved his work. His passions were working on automobiles, using his hands, and spending time outside enjoying nature. He modeled and encouraged a spirit of hard work and giving back. He was an assistant leader with 4-H R.C. cars and was a fan of NASCAR and auto racing. Tom passed away in 2010, and Kim had long wanted to create some type of lasting memorial. She knows her sons support the scholarship fund and that her husband would be happy about it too. Their family benefited from scholarship support in the past, and Kim said, “The Community Foundation has been around a long time; it’s been good to us.” Established in 2014, the Tom Hoover Memorial Scholarship is aimed at graduates of any Pulaski County high school who plan to study in the field of automotive, engineering, vocational, or nature/conservation.
