Syracuse defeated Colgate, 17-5, on Saturday to close out the regular campaign. SU’s previous forays into the NCAA postseason resulted in first-round losses against Georgetown (11-10, 2000), North Carolina (10-4, 2001), Cornell (16-8, 2002) and Yale (12-7, 2003). Syracuse and Dartmouth met previously this season on April 12 at Scully Fahey Field when Dartmouth defeated the Orange 13-8.
