Elimination Circuit

• 6-8 players • Create a start and finishing point. • Allow athletes to be creative. • Incorporate drags and jinks. • Use rebound board for short pass. • Encourage high tempo and acceleration. • Reward creativity.
Sweep Hit Sweep Hit • Go through coaching points with athletes and demonstrate sweep hit. • 2 athletes approximately 20 yards apart. Transfer Pass with Sweep Hit

• 3 players in a group passing across the field. • Player A starts with the ball and passes to Player B and B passes to Player C. • Player C then passes to Player B and the rotation continues. • Rotate middle player every 2 minutes. • Make sure that the Players are moving up and down the field as this exercise develops and finish with a goal shot from the top of the circle.
Sweep Hit • Hands together at top of the stick. • Right knee very close to ground and left knee bent. • Weight transfer from back foot to front foot and weight transfers forward as swing comes through. • Blade needs to circle around the body “scrubbing” the ground. • How you place your left foot in relation to the ball determines direction. • Snapping of the wrist is critical for ball speed. DON’T let athletes roll their wrists over the ball - SNAP not ROLL! Transfer Ball
• Ball position is critical for proper technique. • Clean receptions across body with sharp footwork. • Good pace on passes going cross field is essential Advanced
• Left foot in line with ball = straight sweep with no deception. • Left foot behind the ball = deceptive sweep to the left. • Right foot in front of the ball = deceptive open face sweep.

Goal Scoring Goal Scoring Positions • Groups of 4; Repeat exercise alternatively on left side and right side. • Right Mid passes to Right Striker • R Striker penetrates through an elimination field of markers etc. • Right Mid to Mid-Mid Goal Scoring Position. • Center Striker to Penalty Spot Scoring Position. • Left Striker to Far Post Scoring Position
Goal Scoring Positions • Position 1: Inside line of Far Post • Position 2: Penalty Spot • Position 3: Mid-Mid Position.
• Create an angled face across the circle. • Present for the ball with bent knees, stick on the ground. • Change position based on the angle to the passes and the defenders. • RIGHT STRIKER • Eliminate, slow down and create eye contact with attackers. • Deception and controlled speed of pass increase ability to score. • A forehand pass is critical to the ability to score.

Field Set-up • Set up 2 fields ; play 20 min single goal; 20 minutes 2 goal game • Places cones as field lines. • Move goals accordingly.
