It has that extra sweep, that certain something. It’s almost enough to send a tingle down your spine. This builds enough and promises plenty. It sings with grapefruit, flint, spicy/smoky oak and white peach, all these flavours presenting as a unified whole. The finish is then persistence personified is yet to come.

Impressive wine. Price is getting up there, but why should Australian red wines take all the big bucks? White peach, grapefruit, almonds, oatmeal, gentle toast and spiced oak, touch of struck match. Plenty of flavour and smooth texture, shot through with flinty highlights. Length. Interest. Complexity. All there. It’s cohesive and convincing. I like that it makes a statement but isn’t over-bearing. All just so. Great wine.
