LTSC new staff coach… LTSC is happy to announce the addition of staff coach Nathan Smith Centre and the USSF C License at the IMG Academy, in Florida. He is an avid reader and constantly is striving to educate himself on all aspects of the game. He has extensive experience in mentoring and developing soccer talent across a wide range of age groups. He cares not only about the development of each as soccer players but also endeavors to instill good work ethics along with the values of individual responsibility, teamwork and collaboration.
Nathan is a Staff coach with LTSC, he joined the LTSC coaching staff during the winter of 2010 after previously working with a couple of other organizations in the Northern Illinois area. Nathan is very passionate about the sport of soccer. This passion developed at an early age under the direction of highly talented coaches, in England, India, Italy, and the USA. His interest in coaching started in high school. He is now a fully fledged student of the game and has a voracious appetite for learning. He has gone on to complete the English Football Association’s Level 2 Coaching Certificate course at the UK’s National Sports
He has coached in the Chicago area for the last eight years and has worked on youth development programs for Major League Soccer’s Chicago Fire & Cary Soccer Association including taking responsibility for the delivery of Chicago Fire Soccer Camps, development and delivery of camps for under-privileged youth, holding sessions for affiliates on behalf of the Fire, and has been the head coach for numerous successful youth teams. Progress and improvement of player’s individual and team skills are his main priority. He has coached a variety of ages and abilities and achieved success at many levels both in terms of player development and team success. It should be noted that being a lifelong supporter of Leeds United, he has come to deal with disappointment, you don’t always win…but no matter the result there is nothing to compare with the energy and excitement that comes with the possibilities of the next match!
