GO TEXAN DAY……. A Village School Tradition… By Judi Klausmeyer The students at The Field hockey Village School have been celebrating “Go Texan Day” for more than 20 years. Each year we celebrate with a mix of country line dances and original square dances. Always a parent favorite, the dancing begins at 8:00am and runs through the entire day. All first through fifth graders
perform for their families and friends. Each year the students come to school dressed in their western finest and this year will be no different. We will “Boot Scoot ‘N Bogey” on th Friday, February 26 in the Moore gymnasium.

Health & Wellness day with Nurse Hubbard ….By Angela Vargas Germs and our Immune system Today our students learned so much from the amazing Nurse Hubbard. At the end of each class the students were able to collaborate and answer quiz question in small groups. Our students are fast learners, becoming involved in every grade. Update: Field Hockey…….by Katelyn Rhodes As we transition into our last season of sports for this school year, we look forward to debuting the newest sport to enter our PE program. Texas Pride Field Hockey club, located here in Houston, has generously offered 50 sticks along with some balls to help us get our new program up and running. If your children are interested in learning more about Field Hockey, we recommend they attend some Field Hockey Camps this summer.

[email protected] Varsity Girls’ Basketball support efforts for finding a cure………by Doug Brotherton Last year, the high school girls’ basketball program started an annual "VIKINGS vs CANCER DAY." This year, the Lady Vikings Basketball program decided to honor Diane Staff. Diane is a Kindergarten Teacher at The Village School who is courageously battling Cancer. Anyone who knows Diane understands that she displays the type of SERVANT LEADERSHIP, which all coaches want to see from their players.
Despite everything going on in her own life, Diane continues to make it her mission to serve her family, friends, students, and coworkers. The event was a huge success, as it raised over $4,000, which will be donated to a foundation in Diane Staff's name.
