Blackrock 1:5 Inniscarra 3:10 The trip to the Rockies was a first for this team and playing into a strong wind and sun in the first half the team put up an impressive performance. The team got off to a “rocky” start with an unfortunate goal conceded within one minute of the throw-in which set the game up for an interesting battle. However, from that point forward our backs dominated the game with majestic performances by Con’OLeary, Jack Sullivan, Evan Kelly, Robert Cahill, Cillian Murphy, Brian Lenihan & Mark McLoughlin. Some excellent saves by Padraig Holland in goals when it mattered most stopped Blackrock gaining any momentum to claw their way back into this game. Strong second half’s from our forwards Sean Geary, Mark Buckley, Eoghan Daly and Frankie Horgan (popped up with two excellent goals) and with Jamie O’Sullivan smart play acting as the extra defensive player ensured a confident display against a top class team with several county players.
