UFO Challenge Dates: April – September Cost $10 Drawing for 1st, 2nd, 3rd prizes
What is a UFO Challenge? A UFO challenge is a fun way to get those Un-Finished Objects finished once and for all!! Have you been trying to finish that quilt top you started 3 years ago? How many of your quilts just need the bindings done? Maybe you need to do that last block from the Block-of-the-Month? Bring it on! We’re going to help you get it done! Here’s how: Each person who registers for the challenge will fill out and turn in a list of UFOs numbered 1 through 6, to set their goals. On the first day of each month, a number will be drawn and announced and that is the item number that you have to complete on our UFO list in order to be entered in the drawing. Example ~ Your list looks like this: 1. Finish binding on blue paisley quilt 2. Finish piecing wedding quilt top 3. Finish sewing all the applique on the Mary’s quilt 4. Finish borders on John’s quilt 5. Finish BOM quilt, Christmas 2014 6. Finish knitting 3 pairs of socks started in 2015 On April 1, the UFO number drawn and announced is 4. You have to complete your item #4-Finish borders on John’s quilt and bring it in to the store for us to verify and give you entry points. Wait! What?? Entry points? What’s that? What for? Entry points are for the big drawing at the end of the challenge! Each point = 1 entry ticket. What will you win? A big fat gift certificate from our store! How do you get points? Like this: Complete your UFO on time and bring it in = 1 pt Quilt size 50” x 60” or larger =1pt Includes fabric you bought at NYMQS=2 pt NYMQS kit or class project=2pt In this scenario, you would get 6 entries in the grand drawing. Do this every month and you could have your name in the drawing 36 times by the end of the challenge. Those are some great odds to winning prizes! How big is this prize? Depends on how many people join the challenge (translation, tell your friends about it and have them join with you!) Registration is $10 per person, per session (not per month). If 10 people join, then the prizes total $100, if 20 people join, the prizes will total $200, etc… Prizes are gift certificates to NYMQS and will be tallied as follows: Grand Prize 50% of total registration fees nd 2 Prize 30% of total registration fees 3rd Prize 20% of total registration fees Each participant can only win 1 prize in each session.
Bonus: At the end of 6 months, you’ll have 6 projects on your To-Do list FINISHED!!
