GET THE FACTS : EDUCATIONAL IMPACT Education is a top priority for Liberal. Every penny of the April 8 bond election will enhance education at all USD 480 schools.

PROPOSED EDUCATIONAL IMPROVEMENTS 1) Challenge: Currently, Liberal USD 480 only offers half-day Kindergarten. Solution: All-Day Kindergarten will be offered at all elementary schools, providing the strong foundation, that research shows, impacts the students grades K-12. 2) Challenge: Currently students have a minimum of four building transitions from Pre-K through12. Solution: The District will reorganize the facilities into the following configuration: Pre-K, transition to K-5, transition to 6-8, transition to 9-12. This will reduce the number of building transitions between grades that students experience from four or more, to a total of three at grades PreK-12. 3) Challenge: Students at Pre-K, elementary, middle, and high schools attend classes in portable buildings. Solution: All portable buildings will be eliminated and all students will attend classes in permanent school facilities. 4) Challenge: Classrooms for elementary and middle schools are not appropriately sized or configured for today’s technology, teaching methods and educational studies. Solution: All new classrooms will be designed and configured based on today’s student and teacher needs; for school size, technology, and educational studies required at each facility.
