USTA East Bay Junior Team Tennis Championship Leagues League Information & Formats of Play Player Eligibility Information: 



Players must be a current USTA member and age eligible through the end of the season cutoff: o Spring Season - May 31st 2016* o Summer Season – August 31st 2016 o Fall Season – Nov. 31st 2016 *14U division players must remain age eligible through Aug. 31st 2016 to compete Players that are 10 and under are only eligible to play at their current USTA Jr. Development Pathway level indicated on their player profile. o Note: Players that are aged 11 or older are eligible to play in any age division

Age Divisions and Level Gender Neutral Divisions Advancement opportunities: Spring and Fall JTT Section Championships   

(10 and Under) Orange Ball Division o Played on a 60’ court with orange balls (12 and Under) Green Dot Ball Division o Played on a 78’ court with green balls (12 and Under) Yellow Ball Division o Played on a 78’ court with yellow balls

Same Gender Divisions (Intermediate or Advanced) Advancement opportunities: Same Gender JTT Section Championships and Gar Glenney Cup   

USTA East Bay Junior Team Tennis Championship Leagues Formats of Play – Gender Neutral Divisions (10U) Orange Ball (Gender Neutral)  

   

2 courts required per match 4 Players minimum required per team/match o Any combination of boys and girls, goal is to have at least 1 boy or 1 girl at every match  If a team has 3 players, the #4 singles and #4 doubles match are defaulted  If a team has 2 players, it is an entire team default 4 total singles and 4 total doubles matches per team match (Four - 20 minute timed rounds) o 1 singles match and 1 doubles match per round 4 game sets, no ad scoring o Play to completion of the set or until 20 minutes is called, whichever comes first o No tiebreak played at 3-3, play one more full game Players should play singles matches (1-4) according to strength determined by coach o Players cannot play singles more than once Total games won determines the overall team match score

(12U) Green Dot Ball (Gender Neutral)  

   

2 courts required per match 4 Players minimum required per team/match o Any combination of boys and girls, goal is to have at least 1 boy or 1 girl at every match  If a team has 3 players, the #4 singles and #4 doubles match are defaulted  If a team has 2 players, it is an entire team default 4 total singles and 4 total doubles matches per team match (Four - 30 minute timed rounds) o 1 singles match and 1 doubles match per round 6 game short set, no ad scoring. 3 courts required per match o Matches played in 3 rounds 4 players minimum and recommended maximum of 6 players per team match 1 - 6 game set per round, no ad scoring, tiebreak played at 5-5 4 doubles matches and 4 singles matches per team match o Round 1 – 1 doubles and 2 singles matches o Round 2 – 1 doubles and 2 singles matches o Round 3 – 2 doubles matches Total games won determines the winner No player should play singles more than once during a team match Players should play singles matches according to strength determined by coach Defaults: If a team has 3 players, you will adjust the format to play 1 singles and 1 doubles match per round. Overall you will default a total of 1 singles match and 1 doubles match. o If a team only has 2 players, it is an entire team match default.

(12U / 15U / 18U) Boys Only & Girls Only – Advanced Division  

   

5 courts required per match 6 players required per team match o If a team has 5 players, you default the #4 singles match o If a team has 4 players, you default the doubles match o If a team has 3 players, you default #4 singles and the doubles match 4 singles and 1 doubles match o All matches are played simultaneously 2 out 3 sets, no ad scoring, 10 pt. tiebreaker in lieu of a 3rd set Total matches won determines the winner Players should play singles matches according to strength determined by coach

Formats of Play – Coed Divisions (14U) Yellow Ball – (Coed) Division: - Advanced and Intermediate  



 

3 courts required per match 6 players minimum required per local league match o Must have 3 boys and 3 girls minimum present at each match o Players can only play in 2 individual matches maximum Match Format: o 2 Mixed Doubles o 2 Same Gender Doubles (1 Boys and 1 Girls) o 2 Singles (1 Boy and 1 Girl) 8 game proset, no ad scoring. Tiebreak played at 8-8 Total games won determines the winner

(18U) Yellow Ball – (Coed) Division: - Advanced and Intermediate  



 
