USTA Junior Team Tennis Championship Leagues Sacramento Area League Information & Formats of Play 2017 Summer Season Dates: June 13th – August 6th  

Coed Divisions start June 13th and Same Gender division start on June 19th No matches will be played during July 4th week

Registration Deadlines:  

Team Captain/Team Deadline: Monday, June 12th Player Registration Deadline: Wednesday, June 14th o A team must have the minimum number of players rostered by June 7th o Additional players can sign up anytime during the season prior to their first match o USTA NorCal JTT Player Registration fee is $17 per player

Coed Division Section Championships: July 21st – 23rd (Sacramento – Laguna Creek RC)  Division champions advance to the JTT National Championships Same Gender Division Section Championships: August 5th – 6th (Fresno – 5 sites)  Boys/Girls 18U and 15U Advanced Division winners advance to Gar Glenney Cup Gar Glenney Cup: August 12th – 13th (San Francisco – Bay Club SF) JTT Coed National Championships (Orlando, FL – USTA National Campus)  14U: September 21st – 24th 18U: September 28th – October 1st Fall Section Championships – November 2017 (Site TBD)  10U Orange/Green and 12U Green/Yellow ball gender neutral divisions

Player Eligibility:   

Must be a current USTA member through the end of the season (8/31/17) Must be age eligible through the end of the season (8/31/17) Same Gender league players will be eligible for either Intermediate or Advanced level leagues based on their Universal Tennis Rating (UTR). (See the 2017 USTA NorCal JTT Section Regulations for more information on the Intermediate/Advanced benchmark level) o Exception: The JTT Coed Summer Section Championships will use the USTA NTRP Junior Rating system to determine player eligibility for Sectionals and Nationals



10 and Under – Participation Rules/Eligibility o o o

Any player aged 10 and under can play in a 10U Orange, 10U Green, 12U Green, or 12U Yellow JTT league/division during the local league season Players will only earn USTA Youth Progression participation stars in the 10U Divisions Players that have completed their USTA Youth Progression requirements are listed as “Mission Complete” online and are eligible to play in any age division/Sectionals event  (Exception 10U Orange Ball) Players that have not completed the USTA Youth Progression system cannot play in a 14U, 15U, or 18U league

10 and Under - Orange Ball Division – Tuesday (1:00pm) 10 and Under - Green Ball Division – Tuesday (1:00pm) 12 and Under - Green Ball Division – Tuesday (1:00pm) 12 and Under - Yellow Ball Division – Tuesday (1:00pm)

Coed Divisions – (Intermediate and Advanced)  

14 and Under - Tuesday (1:30pm) 18 and Under - Tuesday (1:30pm)

Same Gender Division (Boys Only) – (Intermediate and Advanced)   

12 and Under - Wednesday (1:30pm) 15 and Under - Thursday (1:30pm) 18 and Under - Friday (1:30pm)

   

2 courts required per match 4 Players minimum required per team/match o Any combination of boys and girls, goal is to have at least 1 boy or 1 girl at every match  If a team has 3 players, the #4 singles and #4 doubles match are defaulted  If a team has 2 players, it is an entire team default 4 total singles and 4 total doubles matches per team match (Four - 20 minute timed rounds) o 1 singles match and 1 doubles match per round 4 game sets, no ad scoring o Play to completion of the set or until 20 minutes is called, whichever comes first o No tiebreak played at 3-3, play one more full game Players should play singles matches (1-4) according to strength determined by coach o Players cannot play singles more than once Total games won determines the overall team match score

(12U) Green Ball & Yellow Ball (Gender Neutral)*  

   

2 courts required per match 4 Players minimum required per team/match o Any combination of boys and girls, goal is to have at least 1 boy or 1 girl at every match  If a team has 3 players, the #4 singles and #4 doubles match are defaulted  If a team has 2 players, it is an entire team default 4 total singles and 4 total doubles matches per team match (Four - 30 minute timed rounds) o 1 singles match and 1 doubles match per round 6 game short set, no ad scoring. Tiebreak played at 5-5 o Play to completion of the set or until 30 minutes is called, whichever comes first Players should play singles matches (1-4) according to strength determined by coach o Players cannot play singles more than once Total games won determines the overall team match score

4 courts required per match o Matches played in 2 rounds 5 players minimum 1 - 8 game set per round, no ad scoring, tiebreak played at 8-8 2 doubles matches and 6 singles matches per team match o Round 1 – 1 doubles and 3 singles matches o Round 2 – 1 doubles and 3 singles matches Total matches won determines the winner No player should play singles more than once during a team match Players should play singles matches according to strength determined by coach Defaults: If a team has 4 players, you will adjust the format to play 2 singles and 1 doubles match per round. Overall you will default a total of 2 singles matches. o If a team only has 3 players, it is an entire team match default

(12U / 15U / 18U) Boys Only & Girls Only – Advanced Division  





6 courts required per match 6 players required per team match o If a team has 5 players, you default the #6 singles match and #3 doubles match o If a team has 4 players, it is an entire team default 6 singles and 3 doubles matches o Singles: 2 out 3 sets, no ad scoring, 10 pt. tiebreaker in lieu of a 3rd set o Doubles: 8 game proset, no ad scoring, tiebreak played at 8-8 Total matches won determines the winner

3 courts required per match 6 players minimum required per local league match o Must have 3 boys and 3 girls minimum present at each match o Players can only play in 2 individual matches maximum Match Format: o 2 Mixed Doubles o 2 Same Gender Doubles (1 Boys and 1 Girls) o 2 Singles (1 Boy and 1 Girl) 8 game proset, no ad scoring. Tiebreak played at 8-8 Total games won determines the winner

(18U) Yellow Ball – (Coed) Division: - Advanced and Intermediate  
