Old Business Review / Approve meeting minutes from January – Brian Smith motioned, Lois Williams seconded, approved unanimously without change MN Mash – Schedule for MASH will be (3) times per team. We are also looking at other alternatives for coaching development such as MN Twins Clinic, etc. Discussed coaching development workshop thru Minnesota Gophers. Board would approve payment of $25 registration fee if coaches attend. Voluntary, not mandatory for coaches.

BIG Update – Website is live. No minimum order required. Ron will be at uniform fitting on Sunday. Orders will be received (3-4) weeks after closing which is February 21st. Uniform Fitting - nothing has changed on the Universal website. Posted will be new instructions for 9/10 year olds. First fitting will be held Sunday, February 9th from 5-7pm and Thursday, February 13th from 6-7pm. All players must register by March 2nd. Discussion of splitting teams and level they will be playing at. Mike will be sending an e-mail to parents indicating their opinions on level of play in each age group. Will follow-up with board in March. Registration Numbers – numbers continue to be low (131). Discussion of re-opening “early bird” discount. Will have impact on number of teams and if “cuts” are necessary.

Board Reports: 13-15 Age Group Coordinator o Discussed tournament registrations for each level. 10-12 Age Group Coordinator o Discussed tournament registrations for each level. Also the need for coaches to reach out to players who have not registered as of yet to see intention is to play baseball or not this summer. Sean would assist. Treasurer o No report Secretary o No report Concessions o We discussed whether parents need to volunteer on the weekend their kids play or can volunteer any time slot they want to throughout the total season. Board voted 10-1 to have parents run their own tournaments and have concession coordinators for each tournament from each team. Brittany will coordinate. Equipment o Only one set of gear is out and it’s accounted for. Potential new equipment bags with the problems with the old bags. Fields o Discussion of water pumps. Concerns with gas pumps. Hand pumps were discussed and will be reviewed at future meetings. Also discussed drags for each field and equipment at each location. Tournament Registrar o Registrations are coming in. Most tournaments are filling up fast with the exceptions of the 11’s. We will continue to monitor Tournament Coordinator o Discussed again the challenge of finding tournament directors for the weekends we have no teams playing. Discussed having volunteers (i.e. baseball boosters, football boosters) running tournaments where we do not have teams. We need to further discuss once final numbers and numbers of teams have been finalized. Uniform Coordinator o Uniform fittings Sun, Feb 9th 5-7pm and Thurs, Feb 13th 6-7pm o BIG website open Tryout Coordinator o Confirmed all tryouts will have evaluators. It was stressed that all board members needed to be available for each session. Elimination of pitching and catching at tryouts. Will be based on coach’s evaluation from previous year.
