VRC Field Reset Guide Accurately reset the competition field after each match. Assist Division Description Manager or Referee in any way needed. Students with high energy do well in this role. Experience and Skills Needed
No experience is needed. Ability to review field diagrams to place game objects in correct location on the competition field. Ability to move quickly around the field. Good listening skills and ability to pay attention.
Physical Standing or walking most of the time. Activity Desired 4-6 hour shifts, all day, or multiple days Duration Listen carefully to instructions from the Referee as to when you can reset the field. Move quickly but safely around the field. Be precise in placement Responsibility of the 20 stars and 2 cubes on the field. Check to make sure there are 2 stars and 1 cube in the preload areas for both alliances. Report To
Sign in at Volunteer Check-in; then report to the Head Referee or the Division Manager in the game field area.
Location/ Position
Report to your assigned Division 30 minutes before the practice and qualification matches begin. Between matches, sit in assigned area for Field Reset volunteers and do not move around the game field area.
Training Before Review this Guide and get familiar with where scoring objects are placed Event on the field according to the diagrams on page two. Training at Review this Guide and practice resetting scoring objects on the field. A Event short on-site review will be provided by the Division Manager as needed. Wear comfortable clothes appropriate for a school-related event, volunteer Dress Code t-shirt (if provided), and wear socks. Be prepared to reset field in your stocking feet because shoes are not allowed on foam tiles. When the match ends, wait for the “all clear” sign from the Referee. When the signal is given by the Referee, reset the field with 24 Stars and 4 Field Reset Cubes. Refer to the diagrams on page two of this guide from the VRC Process Starstruck Game Manual. Be precise in the placement of 24 stars and 4 cubes, including 2 stars and 1 cube in the preload areas for both alliances.
