1 VISION STATEMENT BY HOLY CHILD SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL Delivered by Juliet Badu Dasimoah Date: 16 November 2015 Venue: Pempamsie Hotel, Cape Coast Mr. Chairman, Oguamanhene, Ministers present, Ladies and gentlemen All protocols observed; I greet you all. We all desire a mighty, prosperous and flourishing country. But then I ask, how will we achieve this? I am Juliet Badu Dasimoah, a student of Holy Child School and I speak on the nation we seek to build. First and foremost, admission and job seeking should be based on merit and not protocol. A child who has obtained distinction in her exams is entitled to the school of her choice. A university graduate who has come out with distinction and is qualified is entitled to the job of his choice. All these people need not seek the help of influential personalities to attain their positions and this is the country we seek to build. Furthermore, decentralisation must become a reality. Documents must not all be sent to the country’s capital to be processed before any work can commence. It is not surprising to find government workers who have not been paid for years due to delays in the processing of documents. So I ask, why can’t we have the local authorities process these documents? Lastly, the general elections should be carried out devoid of violence and machoism. Security personnel need not protect ballot boxes. For the country we seek to build, during a change over, political parties need not harass one another, all in the name of power. We are building a country which we all have to be proud of. In a nutshell, we need people who show the qualities of respect for all, integrity and above all, the fear of the Lord. Thank you.
