Before you repeat your mantra, however, you need to know what to say to yourself. First, you need to visualize it. Or, as we already had you do, you need to dream it. Everyone is familiar with Arnold Schwarzenegger. Emigrating from Austria as a teen, he dedicated his life to becoming the best bodybuilder in the world. But that was just the beginning. I visualized myself being and having what it was I wanted. Before I won my first Mr. Universe title, I walked around the tournament like I owned it. I had won it so many times in my mind that there was no doubt I would win it. Then I moved on to the movies, the same thing. I visualized myself being a famous actor and earning big money. I just knew it would happen. Exactly like self-talk, visualizing yourself being successful is also a tool to help you become successful. In fact, visualizing yourself in a positive light is necessary. No one blindly falls into success. Sure, some people are born into money but money isn’t the only measure of success. Setting goals and attaining them is what makes someone successful. Good luck is when opportunity meets preparation. There are opportunities all around you but are you prepared to take advantage of them?

Activity Everyone has negative thoughts creep into our minds from time to time. Some of us are almost consumed by them. Let’s work on that. On a piece of paper (using your why as a guide), make a mantra for yourself. Write something that matters to you and only you. Eventually you’ll want to have this memorized.

Example: I have to [do this thing I hate] in order to [accomplish this awesome thing].
