By clicking Agree below, I authorize City of Lakes Youth Hockey to charge my credit card for any volunteer hour or hours not fulfilled. All volunteer hours not fulfilled will be charged to my account in full not earlier than April 1, 2014 and not later than September 1, 2014. Volunteer Program Information City of Lakes Youth Hockey Association is a non-profit organization that relies entirely on volunteers for its operation. Through volunteering, each family is able to personally contribute to the success of the organization. By relying on volunteers, City of Lakes is able to keep fees lower. Each family is required to volunteers 6 hours per skater for City of Lakes Youth Hockey Association. Because we recognize that it can be difficult for families with more than 1 skater in our association to fulfill 6 hours per skater, the maximum number of hours required per family will be 10 hours. Upon completion of the volunteer hours, there will be no charge. All volunteer hours must be completed by the final events of the season in March (the Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser or the spring Try Hockey For Free date, whichever is later) or the volunteer charge for hours not fulfilled will be applied. While we value and prefer families volunteer, we recognize that not all families are in a position to do so. In those cases, families can purchase the volunteer buyout during registration (which will be applied immediately) and they will be exempt from volunteer requirements. A volunteer hour is counted at a rate of $20.00 per hour. 6 hours of volunteer time is equivalent to $20.00 x 6 hours = $120.00 10 hours of volunteer time is equivalent to $20.00 x 10 hours = $200.00 Volunteer Opportunities A variety of volunteer opportunities are available throughout the season. These opportunities range from concession stand volunteers to fundraising committee work to coaching. All opportunities are spelled out in detail on our website. The sign-up for these opportunities is available directly on the website, and each family is responsible for identifying and signing up for their own volunteer assignments. Certain jobs within our organization are particularly demanding and automatically fulfill volunteer requirements. These jobs include: 

Board Positions

Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches (who complete their coaching certification)

Team Managers

Committee Chairperson (i.e. spaghetti dinner, wreath sales, recruiting, etc.)

No Show Policy

Because we are dependent on volunteers completing their commitments, we ask volunteers to make every effort to keep track of their volunteer assignments. Volunteers that do not show up have an impact on the association. Volunteers signed up for an assignment that simply do not show up without making any effort to make alternative arrangements or inform others, will be fined $20 per hour. Example: You sign-up for 2 volunteer hours and are a "NO SHOW". Your account will be charged 2 hours x $20.00 per hour = $40.00. The charge for $40.00 will be charged to your account immediately.
