WAKE FOREST HIGH SCHOOL School Phone Message October 9, 2013 and October 14, 2013
Hello, this is Patti Hamler, Principal of Wake Forest High School. All 10th grade students enrolled at Wake Forest High School will take the PSAT October 16. The state of North Carolina requires that all students classified in our database as a 10 th grader must take the exam. In addition, 11th grade students who signed up to take the exam before the deadline date will also take the PSAT October 16. All students should bring a scientific calculator to their testing site. You will not be permitted to bring your cellular phone device to the testing site. It is a state testing procedure that if you do bring it, you will be instructed to power it down and turn it in to a faculty member. Please note this is standard procedure for all state mandated testing to include PSAT, PLAN, ACT, EOC, AP, and MSL. The PSAT/NMSQT measures: ◦Critical reading skills ◦Math problem-solving skills ◦Writing skills At WCPSS, PSAT scores are used to determine advanced placement (AP) potential and to ensure that students who are ready to take AP courses are encouraged to do so. The PSAT score report is also used to help students determine their areas of weakness so they can be better prepared to take the SAT.
That’s all for today! Thanks for all you doing helping us Raise the Pride!
