WSU assistant coach Angela Whyte and volunteer coach Liga Velvere will compete for Canada and Latvia, respectively, in the IAAF World Indoor Championships, March 17-20, in Portland...Whyte (Edmonton, Alberta), was the top Canadian and fifth overall in the women’s 60m hurdles at the 2016 Hershey Indoor Track & Field Canadian Championships in Montreal last month...a member of Team Canada at the 2004 and 2008 Olympic Games... ran the 60m hurdles in a time of 8.05 seconds Feb. 27, 2016, in Seattle... lifetime-best time of 7.92...one of 22 athletes from 16 countries racing in the women’s 60m hurdles and 8.05 seed time is ninth-fastest among the field... women’s 60m hurdles will be contested Friday, March 18, with heats at 10:45 a.m., semifinals at 5:30 p.m., and the final at 8:30 p.m. PT.
